It’s officially the first day of autumn, which means it’s time for all things cozy! Warm drinks are back in and we’ve got an easy and delicious simple syrup recipe to add to your coffee or hot cocoa.
The coconut sugar in this recipe adds a rich flavor that’s similar to maple syrup, but spiced up with some vanilla and warm cinnamon. It tastes like the coating on candied nuts at festivals and sporting events that makes them so addictive (if you know, you know). It’s a must try!
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of coconut sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat
- Bring to a boil, then turn to medium heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes
- Once the syrup has thickened a bit, take pan off the heat
- Once cooled, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator
