Answers to the most commonly-asked questions about the hair care bars we carry at New Moon Refillery!
Shampoo Bars
How do I use them?
Apply directly to hair and scalp, or lather in your hands first—whatever you prefer! If you apply directly to your scalp, try not to press on the bar too much. Try to let the bar glide across your hair and your shampoo bar will last longer.
Do they really work?
Yes! We carry the shampoo bars we do because we have tried them and love them. Many other brands have created bar shampoo because it’s trendy, but they aren’t actually making shampoo.
Dip and Sudz Cauldron (the brands we carry) formulate true shampoo bars that are pH-balanced to clean your hair without leaving it feeling straw-like or waxy.
How long do they last?
How long shampoo bars last depends on a variety of factors, such as length and thickness of hair, how many people are using it, if you store it properly, and how often you wash your hair.
On average, hair bars last…
-Full size shampoo: 1 to 5 months
-Mini shampoo: 2 to 6 weeks
Conditioner Bars
How do I use them?
Apply directly to hair after shampooing. Glide bar through middle to ends of hair.
Can also be used as a leave-in conditioner or after swim detangler! Wet conditioner bar and rub around in hands, then run fingers through hair.
Do they really work?
Transparently, we carry the 2 brands we do because of the conditioner bars. The shampoo bars are great, too, but our biggest qualms have been with bad conditioner bars!
Both the Dip and Sudz Cauldron conditioner bars are AMAZING. They are easy to work into your hair, wash out completely, and create a slip that is similar to a liquid conditioner. It is the owner’s favorite product and always will be.
How long do they last?
Conditioner bars generally last quite a bit longer than shampoo bars. Again, it depends on your hair type, how often you use it, etc.
On average, hair bars last…
-Full size conditioner: 6 to 14 months (this is not a typo – they last a long time!)
-Mini conditioner: 1 to 3 months
