Toilet bowl cleaner tablets were a highly-requested product in the store, so we thought “why not make them ourselves?”
These tablets are small but mighty, utilizing:
Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda): mild abrasive that helps remove stains
Sodium carbonate (washing soda): heavier duty cleaning and stain removal
Citric acid: aids in reducing hard water stains and mineral deposits + works with baking soda to provide fizz
Sodium coco sulfate: surfactant providing foaming action to lift residue
Sodium percarbonate: oxygen-based cleaner to help whiten
Kaolin clay: helps bind the tablet together
Witch hazel: used to dampen mixture before creating tablet
Essential oils: provides a clean and fresh scent
Price: $1.20 per tablet or 10 for $11
Instructions
Drop in the toilet bowl and let fizz for 5-10 minutes. Then scrub with a toilet brush and flush. That’s it!
Store in a dry area to preserve effectiveness of tablets.
